Chicken Doodle Soup is a newsletter and online archive by multidisciplinary artist Nicole Sylvia Javorsky where she shares soulful reflections (and interviews) on healing, making art, existential questions, and the insights found in everyday life.
In Chicken Doodle Soup, Nicole writes letters that stir together stream-of-consciousness reflection, poetry, visual art, and music. In allowing herself to write organically, jumping from describing an artwork to an observation in her daily life to existential inquiry about the human experience to reflecting on part of her healing process or a song, the reader can clearly “hear” Nicole’s unique voice.
Earnestness, honesty, and moving between prose, poetry, lyrics, and phonetic sounds as if she was dictating the way she’d describe something to a friend — these creative intentions and choices serve to prioritize what flows naturally in order to get at deeper truths, capturing how something is actually felt and experienced.
Employing her journalism background, Nicole also conducts interviews with fellow creative humans in her Heart to Hearts interview series.
