Kind Words
“Nicole surrenders herself to the creative process, letting herself go without being afraid of her emotions. She lets herself be carried away and creates an energetic, pure, brilliant work ... Nicole bares her soul, she is not afraid to show her feelings and this makes her brave. She expresses her world with the aim of helping the viewer to do the same while looking at her artworks ... Nicole relates to reality as many avant-garde painters did in the past, letting the artist’s emotions and state of mind contribute to the creative process. The continuous movement, the dynamism of the work also shows an approach to the world of dance and music. Nicole is able to assimilate energy from her surroundings, from nature and the urban landscape, reproducing it on the canvas in an abstract way through the strength and expressiveness of the colours ... Nicole combines several artistic worlds at the same time and creates artworks of art with different levels of interpretation, dynamic and suggestive.”
— Ilaria Falchetti, art curator
“We received your painting yesterday, we were so excited. It sits on the top of the serving table in the living room for now, we need to frame it and hang it up. The color matched with the espresso coffee cups I brought home from Brazil in 1980 so well, I love it. Can't wait to share with my friends :) We also feel the warmth of the artist in the room with us, an indescribable good feeling :) Hope you continue with your fine work, one day we want to visit your gallery!”
— Dana and Michael Auteri, art collectors
“I first met Nicole Javorsky at a coffee shop in New York City in early 2016. We became fast friends, bonding over a love of writing, nonprofits, and thinking deeply about the world around us … Nicole has been instrumental as a voice of reason and logic, inspiration and heart, and talent and time as we’ve grown together as friends (and creative cheerleaders) in the past six years. I am so excited to bring her back to the Smile Project blog to share more of her work exploring the healing powers of art, music, and poetry.”
— Liz Buechele, founder of The Smile Project
Nicole is fantastic to work with! I purchased a piece from her (“Fairy Dust”) and she hand delivered it with a beautiful presentation. Her newsletter is also a great source of insight and reflection. Very few creators put the level of care into their work and relationships that Nicole does.— Gabrielle Rabinowitz, collector and collage artist
“Why an artist does what they do can be just as important as the art itself. Context, in this case, ignites Nicole's already furiously expressive art into the wildness it is meant to be. It’s a feeling I seldom get with artwork, and Nicole's earnestness with her motivations and the life they bring to her brush strokes means her work - and the heart that beats behind it - are things I will treasure forever.”
— Patrick Tsao, artist and art print buyer

Whispers Among the Trees
Over the past few years, I've been hard at work creating drawings, paintings, and mixed media artworks in my Whispers Among the Trees series!
This series of artworks weaves together my healing journey from childhood trauma, the magic and beauty of the natural world, and turning toward wonder as a counter to despair and a pathway to imagining how life, and this world, can be.
